Custom Molded Cuffs: A Better Fit for Vacuum & Cleaning Systems

Posted by Flexaust on May 2, 2025

Secure, reliable hose connections start off with the right cuff. Flexaust designs and manufactures custom-molded hose cuffs to create dependable, leak-free connections between vacuum hoses and their attachments. Whether you’re designing a new product or upgrading an existing system, custom solutions can make all the difference.

We manufacture an array of high-quality industrial and commercial vacuum hose cuffs in our injection molding department for our original equipment manufacturer (OEM) clients. These cuffs are particularly beneficial for those designing and constructing new products or vacuum systems. Learn more about our expertise in custom-molded hose cuffs, how they differ from standard options, and how Flexaust can support customer operations through secure hose and equipment connections with any of our hose offerings.

Why Choose Custom-Molded Hose Cuffs?

So our clients won't have to select an off-the-shelf product and try to make it work, Flexaust offers custom-molded hose cuffs to perfectly suit customers' exact requirements. Our cuffs are beneficial for their:

  • Turnkey assembly. Our team overmolds injection-molded cuffs to the end of our hoses, providing customers with complete, turnkey hose assemblies. With precision fit for secure connections, Flexaust's custom-molded cuffs form a reliable, leak-free seal with virtually any vacuum system or floor attachment.
  • Improvements to hose functionality and longevity. These cuffs are effective for preventing everything from disconnections to premature wear and air leaks.
  • Customization for specific applications. We offer our OEM clients tailored hose cuff solutions to accommodate even the most unique vacuum system designs.

Flexaust’s Custom Injection Molding Process

Our team utilizes advanced plastic injection molding technology and our background in precision engineering to manufacture flexible hoses and related accessories based on a customer's desired specifications. With custom-molded hose cuffs, we begin by affixing a hose to an arbor and closing the mold. Next, we injection-mold thermoplastic material around the end of the hose to create a hermetic seal. We can do this with any hose that we offer. Finally, we remove the hose from the arbor, resulting in a complete hose assembly with an end-to-end hermetic seal.

Flexaust works with an array of plastics to achieve the material properties an application requires, such as flexibility and durability. For example, these hoses are suitable for pressurized applications, typically handling pressures of 3 PSI. However, we can make hoses and cuffs that are compatible with pressures exceeding 10 PSI. Our products are also available in custom configurations and dimensions to ensure we find the ideal fit for a client's vacuum system or industrial cleaning equipment.
